एक गांव में रामू नाम का एक गरीब किसान रहता था| रामू के पास एक छोटा सा खेत था| जिससे वह अपना घर चलता था| एक दिन वह बाजार में खेत के लिये बीज खरीद रहा था| तभी उसकी नजर दो बड़ी और सुंदर घडो पर पड़ती है, रामू दोनों घडो को खरीद कर घर की ओर चला जाता है| अगली सुबह वह दोनों घडो में लकड़ी बांधकर पानी भरने नदी में जाता है| वह पानी लेकर वापस आता है, तो देखता है कि एक घड़ा फूटा है, जिसमें आधा पानी है| ये देखकर वह निरास नहीं होता और अपने काम पर चला जाता है| दिन गुजरते जाते हैं| रामू प्रतिदिन उन्ही घड़े से पानी लाता है| ये सब देखकर फूटा घड़ा दुखी होता है कि फूटे होने के बाद भी रामू उसे फेकता नहीं उससे पानी लाता है| अगले दिन फूटा घड़ा अपने मालिक से दुखी होकर अपनी कमी को बताता है| रामू कहता है मुझे तुममे कोई कमी नहीं दिखाई देती| वह फिर पानी लेने चला जाता है | फूटा घड़ा रास्ते में खिले फूलो को देखकर अपनी कमी को भूल जाता है लेकिन वापस घर आधे पानी लाने पर दुखी होता है| तब रामू बताता है | रास्ते में जो सुंदर फूल देखकर तुम अपनी कमी को भूल गए थे वे फूल तुम्हारे वजह से ही लगे हैं, तुमसे जो पानी गिरता है उसी से वो फूल उगे हैं और इससे मुझे आमदनी भी होती है| इस कहानी से सीख मिलती है | हमें दूसरो की कमी को ही ध्यान नहीं देना चाहिये बल्कि उसे दूर कर अच्छाई को निखारना चाहिये|
