Villagers form organisation to decide their own collective fate
Subhash Gayali from Dhanbad in Jharkhand says people in the area says companies here have destroyed their forest and land a lot and they feel the need to make a people’s organisation to stop further destruction. He speaks to one villager who tells him that they have formed an organisation and will from now on will decide their fate o their own. Children suffering from unknown disease in Odisha village
Khuturam Sunani from Nuapada district of Odisha is telling us about a mysterious disease in a village where 39 children between the age of 2 and 12 are suffering. A medical team visited the village today but could not make out about the disease. The children are weak, they are having dyscentry and are not eating. There are some malaria patients are also there. Schools conduct entrance test flouting Right to Education!
Khuturam Sunani from Nuapada district of Odisha says Govt had issued a circular that according to Right to Education law there will not be any entrance test in school admission but Govt run Eklavya and Navodaya schools have flouted that rule which has harmed poor students. Former DGP Chhattisgarh returns to work in Home Guard
Surendra Hanspal from Raipur in Chhattisgarh says after Govt had transferred former DGP Vishwaranjan to the post of DGP Home Guard he had gone on a long leave and it was suspected that angry former DGP will not return. But it looks Govt has persuaded him to return. Not enough supply of subsidized seed, fertilizer in Jharkhand
Uttam Gayali, a farmer in Jharkhand says that the centre sanctioned more than one lakh sixty thousand tons of food supplies ( for drought relief) But only about sixty thousand tons were supplied. After three years of drought, the area has got rains and the farmers expect to get their own crops this year.
