On childrens day villagers lock schools demanding more teachers
Khuturam Sunani is telling us from Nuapada district of Odisha that instead of celebrating Children’s Day on 14th november villagers have locked more than 30 schools in the area demanding more teachers. He speaks to one of the head of parents committee who tells him that in their village earlier they had one teacher which is now down to zero but by law there should be 8 teachers. NREGA : Enquiry went back without meeting complainant

To protest lack of teachers people put a lock in the school
Barun Sunani from Nuapada district in Odisha is telling us about people putting up a lock in the school of Jogibal village from last 2 weeks demanding more teachers. In their school there are only 5 teachers for 197 students. Villagers say their children studying in different classes are forced to study under one teacher though according to Right to education act that should not be the case. Adivasi groups fight and police collects Rs 10,000 in bribe
Sukhiram Baiga from Kabirdham district in Chhattisgarh says there was a fight between two groups of Baiga adivasis and one went to police. After that police demanded Rs 10,000 as bribe otherwise threatened to send us to jail. We have borrowed Rs 7,800 at a rate of Rs 10 and have paid to police.
