Sunil Soren from Jharkhand says Santhali language has got recognition in constitution but after that government is not doing anything to promote it. He says in year 2007-08 books in Santhali language were published and distributed in schools but no teachers were appointed so all the books went waste. Government is still not appointing any teachers in the language. He requests to us to put pressure on the government to work for the improvement of the language. Khuturam Sunani in Nuapada district of Odisha is talking to a farmer who tells him that his 32 acre of land has been submerged under Udanti river which flows from Chhattisarh to the area. The farmer says more than 500 acre of land in around 60-70 villages have gone under water but government has not done anything to help the farmers. Khuturam Sunani from Nuapada district of Odisha is visiting a village in Sinapali block where he talks to students and parents. They tell him that in the school there are 97 students but only one teacher. They tell him that in 2004 they had 4 teachers but that has now reduced to one and children are facing huge problems. They have complained to the authorities but it does not help. Parents are thinking of putting a lock on the school. Sukalo Devi an adivasi woman from Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh says forest department with Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA) is harassing us and are not allowing to take wood which is our right. She says we women have cought forest department people at midnight when they were transporting wood. They should be punished. According to new law it is our forest and we will not allow forest dept or JICA to take it away. They are doing plantation which is also not good.
