14 houses damaged in one month by elephants but Forest dept not helping...

Sajal from Raigarh district in Chhattisgarh is telling us that a herd of elephants has attacked their village and one person was seriously injured while chasing and has been admitted in ICU. 14 houses has been damaged and 2 families are forced to live elsewhere in elephant attacks in last one month. Death of adivasi after beating from forest officials: No action after a week...

Rajendra Gadwal from Betul in Madhya Pradesh is telling us that when adivasis were trying to plant fruit bearing trees in forest they were badly beaten up by forest officials on 28th July and on 11th August one of them Bisan died. They gheraoed local police station but authorities are yet to punish culprits. He says as per law Govt should be giving deeds for these lands but they beating and killing adivasis. Agitation demanding forest rights to Baiga adivasis completes a year in MP

Dinesh from Mathna in Mandla district in Madhya Pradesh is telling us about an unknown protest which is completing one year this week. Forest department had destroyed crops and arrested 6 Baiga adivasis though they have put application for getting land deeds under forest rights act for the land they are using for years. Got land deeds under Forest Rights Act but has no official seal, so of no use!

Naresh Bunkar from Kandawani panchayat in Pandaria block of Kawardha district in Chhattisgarh tells that Baiga tribals from this area had done a big demonstration soemtime back and they were given land deeds under forest rights act.
