NREGA non payment: NHRC issues notice to state

Sanjay Sharma from Surguja in Chhattisgarh says National Human Rights Commission has issued a notice to state on the case of Somar Sai. He reminds us that when the case was first raised in Swara Govt of India had sent a notice to state but because the letter had a misspelling the Govt had replied saying there is no one with that name. Mr Sai died in 2008 and his wife Laxmi is still running from pillar to post to collect his NREGA wages. He also thanks the person who took the case to NHRC. Sanjay ji can be reached at 09754332440

Action taken report on NREGA website misguides people

Sanjay Sharma says he had heard a report from Shivram Sonvani sometime back saying that NREGA wages of Rs 2,49,000 of 264 people from Surguja was unpaid and there was no action from the authorities. I did some follow up on it after collecting more details from Shivam but was shocked to discover yesterday on official NREGA website that the complaint on this subject by me is not clear and the concerned people can not be reached. I can guarantee that I had sent all the details to authorities through e mail and they are trying to mislead here. For more Sanjay Ji can be reached at 09425582050

Maximum NREGA money should be spent on water conservation

Sanjay Sharma from Chhattisgarh says that the state Govt has decided to spend NREGA money in Mandi, School and Panchayat development as well. He says so far the state has spent maximum money in creation of village roads which is the last item on the list of works in the act. The state is spending very little money in the first item on the priority list that is water conservation which could benefit 80% population of the state most who is dependent on agriculture. Please raise your voice to improve implementation of NREGA

Sanjay Sharma from Gram Adhikar Manch says not many voices are getting raised to reapir the functioning of MGNREGA. Earlier people used to say it is a new law but now people who helped it create are also silent. There is huge corruption in the scheme and people are suffering.
