Jharkhand Forest Rights: 11 lakh have applied, Only 13700 got land deeds...
JM Rangeela is talking to Shyam Sundar Mahto of Jharkhand Kisan Sabha who tells him that in Jharkhand more than 11 lakh adivasis have applied for Forest Rights Act but only 13700 people have got the rights yet. He alleges that since 1991 the Govt officials are more interested towards industries and though Jharkhand has contributed a lot towards getting the Forest act passed the rate of implementation here is very slow.
