But as you may recall as it was reported before on this forum that his son died in need of attention when he was still struggling to get his wages. He has got his wages after the incident but he has tried twice to give an application for late application but officials have refused to take it. Then when he sent it by post officials tried to settle it by paying him some money. He requests all of us help him get his compensation for late payment according to law. As you may recall Prakash Gupta had sent a report from Bilaspur village in Batauli block of Surguja district on 5th March where some laborers had got Rs 70 as wages in NREGA work ( instead of 100) and some did not get any. After the report went out on 8th March administration had conducted an enquiry. The report of the enquiry is not out yet but Sarpanch and Secretary of the village has filed a report against Prakash and his father accusing them of obstructing NREGA work also in special police station for scheduled tribes. Sanjay Sharma from Ambikapur in Chhattisgarh says I have been raising the issues of malpractice in MGNREGA in from some time now. After the reports in Swara administration has become a little active but still they want to hogwash and do not want to really address the peoples problem. I request everyone to please write to government to put pressure to address the problem of poor laborers of NREGA

Sanjay Sharma is talking from Ambikapur in Chhattisgarh where 516 laborers of 22 villages in Batauli block compalined to authorities in January about due payment in NREGA but till date there is no action. Dhiran from Kota block of Bilaspur says forest department is using money from NREGA for road construction but are not following the NREGA norms and wages payment are delayed. He gives example of one road construction work in forest area from 2009-10 where more than 60 workers are yet to get paid fully and in another work 40 workers have not been paid from 4 months.
