Birsa Ulgulan anniversary celebrated near Ranchi
Aloka from Ranchi is reporting about celebration of anniversary of the historic Birsa Ulgulan on 9th January . On this day in 1900 Birsa Munda was arrested by British and was put behind bars in Ranchi. The same day the British had fired on thousands of Munda adivasis in Dombariburu who gave the slogan of ABUA HATU RE ABUA RAJ ( Our rule in our villages). In Torpa village a day long meeting was organised to commemorate where they discusesed about Adivasi history and sand songs

Govt should pay full compensation for crop loss due to rain

Thousands took out rally in Raipur demanding livelihood rights

Due to unprecedented heavy rain in the whole state many people could not join the rally but more than 2000 tribals and struggling people took out a rally in rain and were stopped by police where they presented a memorandum signed by more than a lakh people demanding better implementation of PESA, FRA, NREGA and stopping harassment of activists and displacement from ancestral lands in the name of development

A school by Naxal affected for Naxal affected looking for help
Alok Kumar from Bastar is telling a story of a unique residential school called Panchsheel Ashram in Kutru in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. The school is run by Naxal affected people for the Naxal affected students. Sharda Todchem works here as cook. Her husband, father in law and brother in law were killed by Maoists a day before the start of Salwa Judum for their support to the movement. This unique effort is waiting for support from the government
