Kin of Forest Minister destroying protected forest, No action
Kamal Sharma from Kanker in Chhattisgarh says to get deeds under Forest Rights Act many are cutting trees in protected areas. In a recent case a cousin of Forest Minister Mr Vikram Usendi has cut more than 5000 trees in 15 hectare area in the constituency of the minister Koelibeda. They also put fire in the forest after cutting the trees. Local villagers have complained but forest department is yet to take any action though they confirm the news of cutting of trees. Chief secretary assures help in getting Forest land under FRA
Rajim ji says I had sent an interview on 20th March on Swara with a tribal from Baghmara village who had not got land deed under Forest Rights Act though he is working on the land from more than 50 years. We had given a memorandum to authorities with details of more than 300 such peoole. Forest rights: Working on land from 50 years but not got deeds
Rajim from Dalit Adivasi Sangh is interviewing an adivasi Motelal ji in Champa district of Chhattisgarh who tells her that though he is using a forest land from more than 55 years but he has not got the deeds for the land under forest rights act after repeated efforts. Forest Right: Gram Sabha shd decide land ownership issues
More than 300 people from a rally organized by Bundelkhand Majdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathan, Damoh MP to submit a memorandum demanding review of land claims rejected by the government.Under the Forest Right act 2006, about 10000 claims were made but more than 4000 were rejected. Less than 600 claims were actually awarded. With thousands in distress, people demand a government order to start a campaign of re submitting the claims and visiting the site for certifying the claims, accepting the evidence of the senior residents and the gram sabha as the final authority. Mining is destroying forest near my village, please help...
