Bindeshwari Lal Painkra from Kachnar Adivasi Vikas Sanstha in Surguja Chhattisarh is visiting a village for primitive tribe Korwas and discovers while talking to them that they have not got any NREGA work at all. They say though NREGA work started in the village but it went to others. Govt schemes are not reaching them. Some houses were broken by elephants in 2010. No compensation yet. He says in the road construction there is no need of a bridge as no water flows in the area even in monsoon but they are building a small bridge there. Bindeshwari Painkra from Surguja says thanks to our complaint made on Swara about non payment of NREGA wages today an official from district headquarter visited our village but he refused to go inside the village. He met only two laboreres. We also told him about another case of a nearby village where laborers have not been paid from 2008 but he said he will look into that case later. Shivram Sonwani from Kachnar Adivasi Vikas Samiti in Surguja in Chhattisgarh says we are trying to help workers of NREGA to get their wages in time but we are not succeeding. He tells about a village radhapur where the laborers have not been paid for more than a year and a complaint to Block officers have not helped.
