Rabi Pradhan is talking to Madhusudanji a Ho adivasi social activist in Chaibasa area in Jharkhand who tells him that Govt has only used the Kolhan area for taking minerals away which has not helped the locals. This area needs irrigation and forest based local cottage industry but less than 5% area is irrigated. Naresh Bunkar from Kawardha district in Chhattisgarh is telling that Bharat Aluminium Co ( Balco) is mining bauxite on land of 5 Adivasi villages from 1997 which it took on 20 years lease. 66 Baiga Adivasis were displaced. Today when we are demanding papers for starting the mining operation and the whole process of taking those land under RTI they say no papers are available. Chakra Munda from Raisuan village under Bonai subdivision, Sundergarh dist Odisha is telling in his adivasi Mundari language that they are opposing mining by Govt in nearby Khandadhar hills which has made their lives difficult. Naresh Bunkar from Kabirdhan district of Chhattisgarh is telling that on 18th September he had reported that a road contractor was engaged in illegal mining in forest area and was also cutting trees illegally. He says after the report on 22nd 2 inspection teams visited the area and found the compliant to be correct.
