Request to call minister to arrange food for hungry children

Anil Bamne had sent a report last month saying that Anganwadi in a village called Mahul which has been displaced from Achanakmar Tiger reserve did not receive any food supply from Govt from last 5 months. Priyanka Borpujari from Mumbai says she had called Minister Lata Usendi that day who had promised to look into the issue. Today though minister says the food has been sent no food has reached the village. She requests all of us to call Minister Ms Usendi at 09425590980 to expedite food supply to hungry children

Anganvadi in rehabilitated village receives no food for 5 months

Anil Bamne from Bilaspur says he recently went to see some rehabilitated villages from Achanakmar tiger reserve. When he reached the Anganvadi center the assistant told him that they have not received any ration from last 5 months and have got only few ks of puffed rice which they distribute amongst children. He says these people were displaced from their villages inside the tiger reserve promising all support but authorities are giving lame excuses for not helping them. Swara story delivers food to children in 24 hours

Savita Rath from Raigarh says she had called Swara on 15th March to inform that children of Anganvadi in her village did not have proper food as supplies were stopped from govt. She says the next day after the story went out, officials visited the village and arranged cooked food for the children. The officer has also assured in writing that the supplies that were due from few months now shall be delivered by 1st April. She thanks everyone who made the effort to activate the administration. Children without food in Anganwadi after govt stops supply

Savita Raj from Barlia village in Raigarh in Chhattisgarh says their Self Help Group of adivasi woman is running a ICDS (anganwadi) center in the village but they have not received any help from the government from 1st January. She says we are a group of poor adivasi women we managed to give cooked food to children in last few months but we can not manage any more and today we could only give little dry food to children. Govt should provide nutritious food to chronic patients

Anil Bamne from Bilaspur says the problem of malnutrition is growing in the country and government efforts to counter it in rural areas is not working. But he says it is more important for people suffering from chronic deseases. He says he would request government to run a scheme to provide free nutritious food to people suffering from chronic diseases
