Pitbasu Bhoi from Surguja in Chhattisgarh says all of you know about my NREGA non payment case.But today I want to talk about issues of others in my village.The day Human Rights commission came to enquire about my case they also went to Panchayat bhavan which was closed. The ration shop was open but did not have any kerosene, sugar or salt. Some people in my village have their names on the BPL list from 2002 but they have not got ration cards yet. APL people are those who does not earn that much that they can buy from open market so this is causing big problem to these people. Jyoti Tomar from Delhi says she is doing some research with a Women’s group in slums of Delhi and she has found out that Govt is not making any new ration cards from 2008. Sumedha Bose from Delhi says Govt is saying that they have cancelled 50% ration cards in slums. This has caused big problem to the people. The people who have applied for new ration cards they have not been issued and no reason has been given for cancellation or not making new cards.She says people need to go to the food minister and need to do movement on the subject.
