Misuse of law feared to help Power plant in Chhattisgarh
Laxmi Chouhan from Korba says there is a public hearing for acquiring land for coal mines for power plant of Dainik Bhaskar group on 28th February. He says the area is under 5th schedule and Gram Sabhas have passed resolution saying they do not want to give land. But he suspects that administration will use section 17 of Land Acquisition Act to bypass this objection. He says section17 is for emergency situations and could not be used to acquire land for a private company. He requests people to be vigilent to fight this possible misuse of law.
