Govt should act hard on foodgrain smuggling in MP, Maharashtra border...
Pradeep from Alirajpur says Govt has caught liquor worth Rs 80 lakhs this month in Alirajpur district in MP. It is just tip of iceberg as this border district is used for supplying liquor to Gujarat from MP and Maharashtra. Similarly subsidized ration meant for adivasis in Maharashtra is smuggled to businessmen in MP using speed boats on Narmada. Maharashtra village successfully stops Forest dept from cutting their forest...
Roopchand Dakhme from Ghati village in Kurkheda block of Gadchiroli district says in their village they have got Community Forest right of half the area they had demanded but even after that forest department tried to cut 1000 trees and have cut many. The village protested collectively and said under PESA act forest dept can not cut tree without Gram Sabha permission. He deamnds these forest officials should be punished. Documenting Adivasi knowledge of herbal usage in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra
