20 Baiga adivasis today walked 35 kms through hills to Kota in Bilaspur district in Chhattisgrh to ask about wages for NREGA work they did 6 months ago with some volunteers from Navrachna Samaj Sevi Sanstha. First Program Officer Reena Yadav told them money has been sent to post office. When they demanded this in writing she refused. Subhash Gayali from Ranchi says Jharkhand Mines Area co-ordination committee condemns the arrest of social activists Ramesh Agrawal and Harihar Patel in Chhattisgarh. The statement says Ramesh Agrawal had exposed unconstitutional work of Jinadals that is why he has been sent to jail. They demand an investigation of the arrest and immediate release of both the activists.
