A regional meet has been organised by Gramin Vikas Sangharsh Samiti Dhanbad, and Bhumi Raksha Samiti, Nagda Dhanbad at Nagda village in District Dhanbad.
Jharkhand Area coordinator committee members from Ranchi will address the meeting. 15 villages will be participating. The issue of Pokhariya Khadan dig up which needs to be filled, levelled and made fit to cultivate shall be raised. Also the land should be distributed back to the people.

Khuturam Sunani is telling us about 30 dalit homes being destroyed in a fire last week in village Lathor, district Bolangir in Odisha. It is alleged that a long existing feud between two groups came to a head through a seemingly innocuous fight at a shop. Apparently the incident of burning the homes was planned in advance. Khuturam Sunani says under the leadership of SP Nuapada a team of policemen went on a hunt for Naxals. Under suspicion of supporting the Naxals, they beat up one young man, resulting in fracturing his arm. The police took away two of his mobiles. In another story the police harassed a couple, and took away money from their house. The police refuted the allegations of causing fracture or of stealing money or goods. Subhash Gayali from Dhanbad district of Jharkhand says a company called ONGC is trying to build a factory in a village and is trying to buy lands from villagers by force. The company is not offering any jobs to local youth or facilities to farmers. Villagers have done a dharna and the company has now assured to respond to the demands by one week.
