200 villagers await wages for a month of NREGA work done in May-June 2014...
Sudduram Kunjam is calling from Kilepar village and Panchayat of Charama block, Kanker district Chhattisgarh. He says 200 villagers worked for deepening of a pond under NREGA in the months of May-June this year and are still waiting for payment. Their appeals to local officials have not yielded any result. Basudev Turi is visiting Mahula Keshdhari village in Navadih block of Bokaro district in Jharkhand and says 125 people of 25 Santhal Adivasi families live here but village has no anganwadi centre. Nearest anganvadi centre is 3 km away so children are suffering. Mid-day meal fund due from year, we're unable to give proper diet to students...
Lalsu Nogoti is calling from Kondagaon in Chhattisgarh and talking to Ramdevi from Ghodagaon village ,Makdi block and Lokeswari from Benusri village who say they have been cooking midday meal from long but Govt has not issued midday meal fund from 2013 and shopkeepers have also stopped giving groceries on credit.
