Kanha officials harassing but wont leave our village at any cost,says adivasis
Mohanji is visiting Mandla where he meets adivasis who will be displaced by Kanha National park in the name of buffer zone. Karelal Ji from Mandla says Govt can take their lives but they will not leave their village. He says compensation money can not improve their and future generation’s life. Mohan Yadav is visiting Bhua Bichhia in Mandla district in MP where he meets Dileep Jharia of Adivasi Ekta Manch who works with Baiga Adivasis. He tells him about Mathna village in Madka panchayat where Baiga adivasis are farming from generations but they have not got deeds under Forest Rigths Act but last year forest dept destroyed their standing crop. Voting from 67 years but No road, bridge, Children cant go to school in rain...
Mohan Yadav is visiting Devthan village in Betul district in Madhya Pradesh before the state goes to poll and and old man says we are voting from last 67 years but we do not have a road in the village. Children need to cross a river to go to school and cant go to school in rainy season. Many in the village making up mind not to vote as they find it useless. Handpump broken in Adivasi village, Almost no electricity but bill is regular...
Today Mohan Yadav has reached village Mendhakheda, a forest village in Betul district in MP where he meets Jugan Pandram, a Gondi speaking farmers who tells him that they have 70 families in the village, 65 are adivasis. Their hand pump is broken and they are forced to drink dirty water from stream and are falling ill. They hardly ever get electricity but bill is regular. Adivasi women self help group grow nursery in Govt land, example for many
Mohan Yadav Ji is visiting Devpur Kotmi village in Betul district in Madhya Pradesh where he meets Janpad Panchayat member Sumrat Singh Ji who tells him in his Gondi language that 40 adivasi members of a women’s self help group have grown a nursery in 50 hectare Govt land and have become an example for other.
