My name is Jagdish. Today I am visiting Kodua village in Bausar Gram Panchayat block Jaba in Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh. I met a Kol adivasi woman Mithilesh Kumari who told me that she gave birth to a baby on 25th August in Govt hospital Dabhaura and according to regulations should get monetary support. She says she has visited the hospital 7 times since then and have got a debt of Rs 450 for travel expenses but the doctors are only making her round. We are moving around in cycle rally in Jaba block and reached a village called Garbh and found that adivasis here are living in forest land from 1980s but have not got their land deeds under Forest Rights Act. My colleague Ramkailash Kol had reported on Swara on 10th September that in village Chhitia administration had broken 50 huts of adivasis in the middle of monsoon. I am glad to announce that the head of SC/ST commission from Bhopal has visited the village and assured the adivasis that they will be given fresh land deeds and a case under SC/ST act will be registered against the officials. But since then no doctor has been appointed to this 10 bed hospital. The hospital has no bed, no machines. No child has been born in this hospital. Today on the occassion of Gandhi jayanti villagers organised a one day dharna demanding appointment of doctors. Many have died in the region in need of treatment.
