Tigers killing pet animals but forest dept not ready to accept their presence!
Rajesh Tripathi from Raigarh Chhattisgarh is telling us that the villagers in Bamursia panchayat are repeatedly telling about sighting of tigers in the area. The tigers have killed 4 of their animals. A big herd of 25-30 elephants are also roaming in the region. But forest dept is not keen to accept this under pressure from industries. Bhoramdev: Forest dept again trying to remove Baiga adivasis from the area
Indu Netam is reporting from areas near Bhoramdev reserve forest in Kawardha district in Chhattisgarh. After raising 30 huts of Baigas to ground on 18th Feb, Forest dept y’day once again tried to evict the adivasis from the area. When they were told about various laws they relied the laws should be taught to Baigas. National Human Rights Commission has also issued a notice to Govt after the matter was first reported on Swara. We cross nullah and forest to go to school, pls make school in our village...
Suresh Kumar from Gurkuch village in Rewa district in Madhya Pradesh is telling us that in his village there is a primary school but students need to walk 5 kms to go to school after that. There is a forest in the middle and a nulaah. Many times children are unable to go to school. Forest dept destroys tank making organic manure, threatens to send jail...
Ramkailash Kol from Kailashpuri village in thana Panwar district Rewa in Madhya Pradesh is telling us that forest dept officials destroyed the tank which villagers had prepared to make organic manure on 25th Feb. The officials have threatned that if adivasis went to forest to collect stuff to make organic manure then they will be sent to jail. Kanha displaced yet to get land deeds under Forest Rights act, Pls help...
My name is Panchhu Marawi. I am calling from Mandla district in Madhya Pradesh. My village was displaced from Kanha national park in 1977. Some families got land at that time as displacement package but others captured forest land and have been working on them from 1990s. They have filled application form under Forest Rights act and have paid bribe as advised by local forest officials but they are yet to get their land deeds.
