Govt Task force finds huge irregularities in Jindal steel

Rajesh Tripathi from Jan Chetna in Raigarh says a Govt Task force has found huge amount of irregularities in functioning of Jindal Steel in Chhattisgarh. The task force has found irregularity in use of land, water, tax evasion. They also found illegal appropriation of coal and iron ore. He demands furhter investigation by CBI. He says as CBI got proofs of illegal work by Jindal in Karnataka they may find similar instance here and he questions why Govt has woken up suddenly before the elections while conniving with the industry all along. Pension Parishad rally to parliament demands rights for old

Rajesh Tripathi from Jan Chetna in Raigarh Chhattisgarh is reporting live from a rally organized by Pension Manch in New Delhi marching towards parliament. He says after a 5 day sit in the rally is demanding universal old age pension for all equivalent to half of minimum wages. Pollution from industries turns Kelo river black in Raigarh

Rajesh Tripathi from Raigarh is telling us that industries in the district are dumping so much polluted material in the Kelo river that the river has turned black and many fish have died. He talks to two villagers who tells him that the water is so dirty that you can’t think of even touching it forget about drinking or bathing. They say even cattles are suffering. Chief Minister will meet, kelo dam oustees call off hunger strike

Rajesh Tripathi from Raigarh in Chhattisgarh says after assurance from police chief of the district the protesting farmers have called off their hunger strike. The farmers sat on hunger strike from 25th April demanding better compensation for their land which will submerge under kelo dam. The Chief Minister will meet the delegation on 13th May. 3 farmers on hunger strike hospitalized, no response from Govt

Rajesh Tripathi from Raigarh in Chhattisgarh says 3 farmers who were on hunger strike from last week were hospitalized today due to deteriorating health. The farmers are demanding better compensation for the land to be drowned by dam on Kelo river. He says more than 500 farmers are sitting in protest but Govt has not bothered to talk to them yet.
