Charan Parte is visiting people to be displaced by Shobhapur dam ( On Narmada river) in village Baisakhutola of block Karanjia in Dindori district in MP where he meets a farmer Mayaram Yadav who tells him that his all 4 acres is going to be submerged when the dam comes up. 92 houses in the village will also be submerged and in total villagers will loose 168 acres in this village. Jagdish Ji is talking about importance of land ownership and says it is not only a source of income but it is associated with self esteem. In 2000 Govt of MP had distributed land deeds to over 3 lakhs dalits and adivasis and it looks many of them are still running pillar to post to get possession of that land.
