Kamal Gautam from Chitrakoot in Uttar Pradesh is calling to say that today they did a demonstration on behalf of Rashtriya Dalit Mahasabha and demanded 5 acre of land to each dalit and adivasi in the country. He also says that in years 1960 and 68 many dalits and adivasis were given land deeds after land ceiling act came into effect but these people are still waiting for their land. Kamal Shukla is calling from Santara village, Naharpur block in Kanker district, Chhattisgarh and describes how villagers have taken a significant decision. A person illegally occupied a land which belonged to village community. Villagers went on appealing from police, to Tahsildar, to SDM and collector but none responded. They tell him that they were once displaced by Bargi dam and now they don’t want to be displaced again and don’t want to give their land.
