Chhotu Adivasi traveling with Bhumi Adhikar Yatra of Rashtriya Dalit Mahasabha has reached School tola of Padri village in Sirmaur block of Rewa district in Madhya Pradesh where he talks to dalit woman who says none of them have any land. She says her ancestors had land but that have now been taken away by influential people. He requests us to put pressure on Govt to distribute Govt land equally amongst landless dalits and adivasis. Savita Rath is calling from Dharmajaigarh in Raigarh district in Chhattisgarh where locals are protesting against a Govt order giving land to Vedanta/Balco for a coal mine. People say this is a 5th schedule area and Govt can’t take any land without permission of Gram Sabha which has rejected the offer. Rabi Pradhan is visiting Mandira dam affected people in Jharbeda in Sundargarh district in Odisha.The dam was built in 1958 to supply water to Rourkela steel plant. An old man tells him in Sadri language that many of them were not given any compensation. Some have got house but they got no papers for the land.
