Contract laborers in NTPC Chhattisgarh getting exploited

Vijendra Dwivedi from Contract laborers union in NTPC Seepat in Bilaspur Chhattisgarh says the contractors are not giving minimum wage to laborers working here. They are not respecting other labor laws and not adhering to safety standards. NTPC also is misbehaving with farmers whose land they have taken. Impact: Swara report helps close liquor shop in village

Surendra Hanspal is reporting from a village called Sandi Bangla 55 kms north of Raipur in Chhattisgarh. He says a year back on 25th April 2011 I had reported about a movement in this village against a liquor shop and I am very glad to report that after a year the govt has not given license to that shop this year and people are very happy. Govt not encouraging Organic farmers, alleges activist

Virendra Chouhan from Khandawa in Madhya Pradesh says we are trying to work with farmers to promote organic farming but government does not seem very keen to help the farmers. He says 3 farmers in his village have created organic fertilizer and according to rules they should be encouraged with Rs 1000 each but after 2 months of applying and many follow ups there is no response.
