Women from 10 districts of Chhattisgarh has assembled in a 3 days workshop of Chhattisgarh Mahila Manch in Pithora of Mahasamund district. They are singing a song from the workshop. They are also discussing on the vision and mission of the state of Chhattisgarh and trying to understand what is the difference between a platform and an organisation

Bhan Sahu interviews Bharat Mandavi of Jan Shakti organisation who talks about their fight to get deeds for the forest land under Forest Rights Act on 2005. He says “we have been fighting for years to get our lands regularized where we have been farming from years and we will continue this fight against this historic injustice till our death.We will not leave our land at any cost”.

Bhan Sahu is reporting from Kawardha where Baiga tribals organized a day long protest dharna under banner of Adivasi Samta manch. The Baiga tribals were demanding regularization of government schemes in health, education and employment guarantee. She says in many villages government has made buildings for hospitals but have not arranged any doctors or medicine and tribals are forced to walk many miles at the time of sickness.

They discussed the problem women are facing with drunken husbands. They discussed the situation of women panch and sarpanch in Panchayati Raj system. They talked about women’s education and various laws to protect women’s rights. They all agreed that they need to get together to fight for their rights
