He says some doctors from big cities started this hospital in 1999 to find solution to health problems of poor in remote areas. They not only treat the patients but they also try to find ways so that they do not fall sick next time in future. They also do research on organic agriculture. Sushma Prajapati from Chhindwada in Madhya Pradesh is telling that a working women’s hostel was operational in the city with help from municipality from 15 years. 35 women were staying in the hostel. This year municipality has not renewed the contract and have given an oral order to vacate against which some women have gone to court. He says though deliveries take place in hospitals in rest of India these days but in Bastar it is still taking place at home and most of mother and child are safe due to age old traditional treatment. Ramashankar Prajapati is visiting Itaura village in Post sagra in Tahsil Hujur of Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh and meets Yashoda Saket who tells him that around 80% of the 700 people living here dont have ration cards. Very few have BPL cards though all of them are daily wage laborers. They also dont have Job cards. They have complained to officials and local MLA but they got only assurances. They dont have land.
