Omprkash Baghel is visiting Devbhodu village Lasga panchayat in Lakhanpur block in Surguja district. 25 families of Pahadi Korwa primitive tribe lives in this village. They do farming on forest land there from generations. They have applied for land deeds under Forest Rights act 3 years ago, have requested officials many times but they are yet to hear back. My name is Charan Singh Parte. I am calling from Mawai block of Mandla district of MP. In our area Baiga adivasis do not have land deeds on the land they have been working for ages. After Forest Rights act officials have given land deeds for one or one and half acre of land to them without visiting the area. Forest dept now are throwing them out by force. Mangal Kunjam from Dantewada in Chhattisgarh is talking to leader of Bhu Adhikar Sangahrsh Samiti ( Land right struggle committee) who tells him that one after another National Mineral Development Corp, Railway and Forest dept have been taking the land of adivasis and it is continuing till date on one pretext or another. Stone mining destroying our forest, alleges Pahadia adivasi from Jharkhand
Paul malto from Bhatbhanga Pahad village in Taljhari block of Sahebganj district in Jharkhand says he is from Pahadia primitive tribe and his village is on the top of a hill. As there are no roads they have huge problem taking their sick to hospital as they need to carry them on cots. we also do not have electricity. Forest Dept not allowing road, 2 adivasi pregnant women died in 2 months
Jeetanram Pahadi Korwa from Salkheta village in Gichkalo Panchayat in Dharamjaigarh block of Raigarh district in Chhattisgarh says due to obstruction of forest dept road is not getting built in their village. 2 pregnant women died in 2 months because they could not be taken to hospital.
