Anganwadi centers are far off, so children are malnourished
Brajesh from Rewa says that in district in rural areas, the Anganwadi kendras are a kilometre or two away from the settlements . The children cannot walk the distance, and are not attending. With the result, malnutrition is a common problem. He lists the number of malnourished children from many villages which he has surveyed. BPL card requests get no response despite promise
Brijesh Yadav from Rewa in Madhya Pradesh says about 400 adivasi and dalit families applied for the BPL cards last year. As promised and much advertised in the Public Service Guarantee act the cards should have been delivered in 30 days. However On following up with the Tehsildar he denied having received the applications. These families do not have any other cards like job cards either.
