The tradition had stopped but in a recent meeting they have collected old seeds and learnt the process from Pahadi Korwas in Raigarh. And Govt says there are no Pahadi Korwas in Raigarh district. Jagdish Baghel from Dindori district in Madhya Pradesh is telling us that 70% adivasis from his area have migrated to Maharashtra in search of work as there is no NREGA work in the area from last 2 years. If there is work there is no payment. He says NREGA which started in 2005 worked well till 2009 but after that it has not been able to help and all those promises of 100 days of work and payment in 15 days have been proven hollow. We have applied for land deeds under Forest rigths act but that has got rejected at block level saying we already have land deeds which is not correct. I request you to help us according to the law and the officials to be punished who are harrassing us.
