Companies must level the surface after completion of mining, demand locals...
My name is Subhash Gayali. Today I am visiting Dhanbad area in Jharkhand. Here people are complaining that the Coal mining companies are not filling up the open cast and underground mines as per law after finishing of mining activity. They demand that the company should be working on leveling the surface to give the land back to locals. There could be a big scam in not leveling the mines which needs to be investigated. We gave land for development for 150 years, Not any more...
Subhash Gayali is talking to us today from Dhanbad district of Jharkhand where he is attending a public hearing about proposed coal mines. The authorities said coal mines are needed for development of nation but people said they are giving land for the development for 150 years but in return all the promises have been proven false. Now they will preserve land for their future generation and will not give any land to the company. For more Gayali ji can be reached at 07739836301

Demand for return of land after mining lease is over
Subhash Gayali from Jharkhand is telling us about a regional meet about mining and land in Dhanad district. The main issue was the practices of BCCL which had the rights to mine upto 2005, however they continued and in 2006, 50 mine labourers lost their lives. Where the mining is finished also, the land has not been leveled for farming, nor is their any return of the land to the people, who want the authorities to take note and solve the long pending issues.
