Rajesh Tripathi from Raigarh in Chhattisgarh says after assurance from police chief of the district the protesting farmers have called off their hunger strike. The farmers sat on hunger strike from 25th April demanding better compensation for their land which will submerge under kelo dam. The Chief Minister will meet the delegation on 13th May. Rajesh Tripathi from Raigarh in Chhattisgarh says 3 farmers who were on hunger strike from last week were hospitalized today due to deteriorating health. The farmers are demanding better compensation for the land to be drowned by dam on Kelo river. He says more than 500 farmers are sitting in protest but Govt has not bothered to talk to them yet. Rajesh Tripathi from Raigarh says with connivance of forest officials at least a dozen industries are working inside the reserve forest there. Permission for use of reserver forest is only given by central government and in some cases officials have changed the boundary of forest to help industries.
