Pension Parishad rally to parliament demands rights for old
Rajesh Tripathi from Jan Chetna in Raigarh Chhattisgarh is reporting live from a rally organized by Pension Manch in New Delhi marching towards parliament. He says after a 5 day sit in the rally is demanding universal old age pension for all equivalent to half of minimum wages. He says thousands attended the rally from 22 states and political leaders from 22 parties have extended their support. Anganwadi centers are far off, so children are malnourished
Brajesh from Rewa says that in district in rural areas, the Anganwadi kendras are a kilometre or two away from the settlements . The children cannot walk the distance, and are not attending. With the result, malnutrition is a common problem. He lists the number of malnourished children from many villages which he has surveyed. Adivasi festival to welcome new crop Nawai celebrated

Pollution from industries turns Kelo river black in Raigarh
Rajesh Tripathi from Raigarh is telling us that industries in the district are dumping so much polluted material in the Kelo river that the river has turned black and many fish have died. He talks to two villagers who tells him that the water is so dirty that you can’t think of even touching it forget about drinking or bathing. They say even cattles are suffering. Adivasis will have to fight to get their legitimate rights...
Rajesh Kannoje is telling us about an Adivasi day celebration in Badwani district of Madhya Pradesh. He says the speakers remembered the adivasi freedom fighters like Khwaja Naik who martyred fighting the British but the constitutional rights are not given to adivasis today. Panchsheel policy was talked about in 1950s and similarly Forest Rights act is not properly implemented. He says Adivasis will have to fight to get their legitimate rights.
