DS Maliya traveling with Hasdeo Arand Gram Suraksha Yatra has reached Thekranara village of Mahora panchayat in Premnagar block of Surajpur district in Chhattisgarh. 40 families of primitive Pando tribe live in this village from many generations but they have not got land deeds under Forest Rights act. Mithu Das is traveling with Forest Rights padyatra of Ekta Parishad and meets Baby Devi wife of Lal Sai of Khodripara of Salgawan village in Koria district of Chhattisgarh. She tells him that they are living on a forest land from generations and had also won a court case 45 years ago but this year forest dept has taken away their land and threatening with jail if they complain. Baiga adivasis are living here from 2001 and have applied for land deeds under Forest Rights Act. They have also got a favorable decision from High Court but yet to get the land deeds. Jagdish is visiting Dinanath Adivasi in Dhurkhuch forest village in Rewa district of MP who has single handedly developed forest in 1500 acres of forest land. He has also dug two wells with his wife Nanki bai but there is not enough water to grow his own crop. They need to bring water from a kilometer away for saplings in Prem Van, the forest they have developed.
