At one side Govt is making special arrangements for tourists which create lots of problem for the wildlife but are evicting people living there for many years. Pitbasu Bhoi from Surguja in Chhattisgarh says all of you know about my NREGA non payment case.But today I want to talk about issues of others in my village.The day Human Rights commission came to enquire about my case they also went to Panchayat bhavan which was closed. The ration shop was open but did not have any kerosene, sugar or salt. Some people in my village have their names on the BPL list from 2002 but they have not got ration cards yet. He says as you know I had worked in NREGA for 100 days from September till January and my son died in between while I did not get my wages. Many of you will remember the case of Pitbasu Bhoi from Surguja district in Chhattisgarh whose son had died in hospital when he was still waiting for his NREGA wages after working for 100 days. Bhojwati Nishad is a dalit daily wage laborer. She used to live in a jhuggi in New Mahatma Gandhi Nagar in Raipur. She says she has 4 children. Two boys and two girls. Govt has broken her house and the entire colony on 10th June. Since then they are living in a nearby crematorium. She says children are suffering the most. Snakes and scorpios are coming out in the mud everyday. No one has helped them so far. They are starting a protest from tomorrow and she appeals for help.
