My name is Raja Rathod. I am calling from Dornapal in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. The population of Dornapal is 3-4000 but 3 years back it was declared a Nagar Panchayat by showing a much bigger population. More than 100 families of adivasis live in Dornapal for more than 35 years but their Forest Rights applications are not progresing because the officials say the act does not apply in cities. Vinod Choudhary is talking to a laborer Suresh Saket from village Barhatola in Khamaria gram panchayat of Anuppur district in Madhya Pradesh. Suresh ji tells him that he and other laborers worked under NREGA for digging a well in June 2008 for 28 days but none of them have been paid. The work on the well is also incomplete. In a series of dams on River Narmada one is called Omkareshwar where the dam is almost complete but not the rehabilitation. Affected people are living in their villages and they fear submergence if more water reaches the dam during monsoon. The villagers have decided to start a Jal Satyagarh from 16th July and they will not move from their villages until government completes the just rehabilitation of all the affected people.
