Naresh Bunkar is telling us about two schools in villages of Baiga adivasis in Kandawani panchayat of Pandaria block of Kawardha district of Chhattisgarh. He says in the schools of Thengatola and Kanakhero 3 full time teachers are appointed but the teachers have hardly turned up for 15 days in last 6 months. There is no Mid day meal in schools. I am calling from Tadmetla village in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. I want to tell you that we have around 250 schools in our Konta block but from 2008 only half of them are operational. In non-functioning half of the schools there is no education but the teachers are getting their salaries regularly and we are spending crores on mid-day meal for students.
