Savita Rath is reporting from a hunger strike place where farmers are protesting low rates for their land being taken for a dam on Kelo river in Raigarh. She says the market rate of land in area is around 12 lakhs and govt is giving Rs 50,000 to farmers. The farmers have complained to authorities. They have sat on relay hunger strike from last week but non authority has bothered to listen to them. Now they are planning to close the work of the dam from 2nd May. Raja from Satna says near his village illegal mining work in the forest area is going from last 4 months. People work in the night and stop work during the day. He says I have informed the forest ranger about it and he says he will catch them on spot. Now it is 11.30 in the night the mining work is going on and Ranger is not picking up my phone after picking it up once. I want to bring it to the notice of higher forest officials.
