Upper caste people beat dalits for making their own land...
Bineshwar Nayak is a Dalit boy in a village in Ramgarh district of Jharkhand. He is telling us that 1500 upper caste people today have beaten up 300 Dalits in his village. Dalit leader Sukha Nayak is seriously injured. Dalits have developed some forest land to cultivable but upper caste people want Dalits to continue to work as labors in their land. Bineshwar says upper caste people have also got the lands registrered in their name after bribing forest officials, that was the reason of today’s conflict. Adivasis in Hazaribagh decides not to give land to company
Subash Gayali is in a village in Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand. He tells us that there a public hearing planned by a company on 4th of August to take land for an upcoming project. He talks to an adivasi villager who tells him that they have decided not to give any land to the company and they will oppose the public hearing. Today's land movements are successor of Birsa Munda's struggle

Authorities illegally demolish houses on village forest land
Prakash Gupta from Surguja in Chhattisgarh says authorities have demolished houses of some poor dalits and adivasis built on forest land in a village. According to Forest Rights Act no action is allowed in forest land without permission from Central Ministry of forest. These people were living on the forest land for sometime and authorities accept that they have broken these houses under pressure from powerful people. Birsa martyrdom day: Demand for return of unused adivasi land
