Rabishankar Pradhan is visiting Niyamgiri hills in Odisha where he meets Kumti Majhi, head of Niyamgiri Suraksha Samiti. He tells him in his native Kui language that Niyamgiri is their God and provides all facilities for life and they will not give it to Vedanta at any cost. Supreme Court has recently ordered all the Gram Sabhas in Niyamgiri hills to give their opinion whether they would like mining to start in the hills or not. Non-tribals illegally taken tribal land for mining in Gujarat, Complaint dont help

Bilal Qagzi says he met people from Pokhran Village of Sohangarh Taluk in Gujarat where some people have started stone quarries in the village on the land that belongs to the tribals. The blasts from stone quarries release powder and stones which have damaged the crops. He says some Parsi has acquired a lease for 99 years for the land that belongs to the tribals, which is illegal, and this has taken away the primary source of livelhood away from the tribals. Mining lease cant be given to Adivasis but businessmen get the same land...

Mogji Bhagora President Adivasi Ekta Parishad in Rajasthan is telling us that 235 adivasi families requested mining lease on 623 hectare of land. Govt said it is forest land and lease can not be given. Adivasis went to high court and Mines ministry in Delhi but got no help. Govt should have a holistic approach on mining so it helps everyone...

Iron ore mining allowed in Chhattisgarh by fruadulent hearings, alleges villagers
