Officials are duping tribals from their land in Bastar

Jeebananand from Bastar district of Chhattisgarh says that many tribal land here is illegally being captured by local revenue officials in connivance with influential people. As an example he talks to one adivasi says that his ancestral land has been taken away fraudulently and his appeals from 13 years have not been heard by local officers or collector or Human Rights Commission. Forest Right: Gram Sabha shd decide land ownership issues

More than 300 people from a rally organized by Bundelkhand Majdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathan, Damoh MP to submit a memorandum demanding review of land claims rejected by the government.Under the Forest Right act 2006, about 10000 claims were made but more than 4000 were rejected. Less than 600 claims were actually awarded. With thousands in distress, people demand a government order to start a campaign of re submitting the claims and visiting the site for certifying the claims, accepting the evidence of the senior residents and the gram sabha as the final authority. Jindal Power is trying to take over my land illegally, Pls help

Agitation intensifies against land grab to build IIM Ranchi

Govt removing people by force to give land to IIM Ranchi

Aloka Kujur is reporting live from outside Ranchi where adivasis are protesting against government effort to take away 227 acre of land for Indian Institute of Management. Govt had started procurement process for this land in 1965 but no construction started so many tribals were using the land for their livelihood and were also paying tax.
