Naresh Bunkar is meeting Baiga tribals in Mungeli district of Chhattisgarh who were displaced to make Achanakmar Tiger reserve in 2010. They were promised Rs 10 lakh, 5 acres of land and many more. He meets 8 families from Bokrakachhar village who has got nothing. Rest have not got full compensation, their land is not plain, they have not got land deeds and making rounds of officials. Her assistant reaches once a week and cook mid day meal. Rest of the days the center is closed and Baiga children and pregnant women are suffering. Naresh Bunkar from Kawardha district in Chhattisgarh is telling that Bharat Aluminium Co ( Balco) is mining bauxite on land of 5 Adivasi villages from 1997 which it took on 20 years lease. 66 Baiga Adivasis were displaced. Today when we are demanding papers for starting the mining operation and the whole process of taking those land under RTI they say no papers are available.
