Bindeshwari Painkra from Surguja district in Chhattisgarh says they did a one month long foot march in Sitapur block to check how government shemes like NREGA, PDS, Mid day meal etc are working. He says they found in many villages headmen are filling fake muster roles in NREGA. People have not been paid for their work in NREGA for more than a year. So people are migrating and they do not want to work in NREGA any more. People have paid Rs 10,000 to get wells dug under NREGA and old age pension etc are also delayed for months. He says they told people that according to law the payment should be made in NREGA in 15 days and gave a report to administration two months back but have not heard back from them yet.
