Electricity workers in Chhattisgarh on strike, no one listens...

Bhagirath Verma from Chhattisgarh Mukti Morcha says electricity workers are sitting on strike from last 7 days in Raipur but no one has come to listen to them. These workers have not been paid their wages from last 3 months. He says we demand that these workers should be regularized under the company as per the law and not under a contractor. Electricity company cheat people by delayed meter reading

Arif Siddiqui from Koria district of Chhattisgarh says that electricity company in his area comes for meter reading once in 3 months. If the reading is less than 500 units then the rate is 75 paise per unit but because they come after 3 months the reading is often more than 500 units and then they charge Rs 1.25 per unit. This is going on since this process has been privatized. And the electricity bill has no number or address for anyone to complain. For more Arif can be reached at 08871879801
