Then they announced a public hearing on the subject. A day before the hearing administration went to Khajuri and made fake entry of 100 days of work in Panditram’s job card, when he did not work for that many days and took away the bank account to deposit the money. Prakash Gupta in Bilaspur village of Batauli block of Surguja district is interviewing two laborers who have got wages of Rs 70 per day after working in NREGA when the wage rate was Rs 100 at that time which has now gone up. A girl child from Pota village in Lakhanpur block says there are many problems in her village. She first talks about problem in primary and middle school and then she says people have not been paid in NREGA for more than 2 years.
