Coal mining company not fulfilled promises to locals, destroyed local river...

Dharmanath Bhagat from Amdapada in Pakud district in Jharkhand is telling about Coal mining company called Panam which started operation in 2004 which had promised many things to local for taking their land but after 10 years those promised have proven to be hollow. The dump from mining has destroyed the river. 60+ villages are dependent on the river and agriculture is also getting affected due to pollution which has turned the river black. Bhagat@7542930410

Pls help hapless families of 2 anti mining activists killed in false encounter...

My name is Dilip Behera. I am calling from village Temri, thana Paikmal, district Bargarh, Odisha. We are part of historic Gandhamardan anti mining struggle from 80s. We lost two friends Madhab Singh Thakur and Ramesh Sahu on 27th December 2010 when police killed them by calling them Maoists in false encounter. No work in Mining, NREGA, people migrating in thousands from Jharkhand

According to a social activist Rajkumar Soren he is talking more than 50,000 people have migrated from the block. More than 20 people have died and their dead bodies have come back. Stone mining destroying our forest, alleges Pahadia adivasi from Jharkhand

Paul malto from Bhatbhanga Pahad village in Taljhari block of Sahebganj district in Jharkhand says he is from Pahadia primitive tribe and his village is on the top of a hill. As there are no roads they have huge problem taking their sick to hospital as they need to carry them on cots. we also do not have electricity. First they destroyed farming, Now Mining is all over, We're all unemployed...

Kaira Munda from Thakurani village in Balani Panchayat in Joda block of Kendujhar district in Odisha says in his Mundari language agriculture started reducing since mining started in this area in 1918. By 1990 all the agriculture stopped in the area. But by 2005 mining started closing and today only one mine is working. People here have become unemployed. They neither have mining nor agriculture.
