Morpalli : Translators of Supreme Court commissioner arrested?
Himanshu Kumar says one of his colleagues have returned from the 3 villages which were burnt by security forces in March. The colleague reports that policemen had looted the adivasis after visits of CM Dr Raman Singh and Food Commissioner to Supreme Court Mr Harsh Mander. Police have also arrested two adivaisis from Morpalli who translated for Mr Harshmander. Noopa Mutta and Madvi Sulla had not returned home till the last information. He says villagers are removing their roofs in fear of further attack

Swami Agnivesh attacked again, 150 policemen could not help
Himanshu Kumar says after the news of burning, rape and murder of adivasis in Dantewada when social activist Swami Agnivesh tried to go to the villages he was stopped by SPO and their families and he had to go back. But after that CM Dr Raman Singh provided him 150 policemen and an officer Mr Marawi to accompany him. But the same crowd once again attacked them when thye tried to visit the second time and neither the police officer or jawans could help. Mr Marawi himself fell down on the ground. He says this shows that SPOs have now become a unruly mob which even government can not control

"Absconding" policeman with rape charges beats driver taking aid
Himanshu Kumar says after his report of burning of 3 villages when Collector Dantewada tried to send ration to affected villages, the vehicle was stopped by Special Police officers ( SPOs) led by Surya yesterday. He reminds us that Surya is an accused in rape case on adivasi girls from Samsetti village and police has given a statement in the court saying Surya is absconding. Beating of the driver sent by collector by Surya ( also published in Hindu newspaper) proves that he is still on duty and police officials should be punished for lying to the court

Adivasi rally demanding implementation of Forest Rights Act
Himanshu Kumar is telling us about an adivasi rally he attended in Mumbai last week. He says adivasis from all over Maharashtra walked for 15 days with their food on their head to reach Mumbai.He says adivasis are unhappy over non implementation of forest rights act. A delegation went to meet the chief minister who announced a committee comprising of tribal representatives who will now keep an eye on the implementation of the law

Policemen arrested for killing 3 adivasis in Salwa Judum camp
Himanshu Kumar says you may recall the killing of 3 adivasis in Matwada Salwa Judum camp on 18th March 2008. Police first said the killings was done by Maoists the widows were blaming the police on insistance of Maoists. Now police have arrested 3 policemen and sessions court has also denied them bail. If you recall National Human Rights Commission had also showed its surprise on the police version and high court had asked for interim cash relief to the widows
