Company want land for mining: Govt filing criminal cases to harass villagers

Sunil Verma from Ranchi is telling story of village Jala in Latehar district which has applied for Community Rights on 456 hectare of land in 2011 according to Forest Rights Act. The same land was alloted for coal mining to 2 companies including Tata. He alleges officials have not only rejected the villager’s claim on flimsy grounds but are harassing them by filing criminal cases and using an inusrgent group TPC to threaten them.
